He is survived by: his children, Lyn Eugene Deputy, Lynell Custis, Le'Ondrea Custis, Linette Maddox (Herman), Brandon Smith, Dr. LaTonya Pierce (John) and Lotoya Jones (Antny); his siblings, Ernestine Custis, Lawrence Custis, Jerry Custis, Joseph Custis, Sr. (Romona), James Fitchett and Ricky Nottingham; his great-aunt Margaret White; and his close friend Samuel "Pete" Gaines (Robert "Bobby" Mollock). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
