She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Lightfoot and Valerie A. Lightfoot; the father of her children Melvin Hitch, Sr.; her husband Dewayne Ringgold; her siblings, Barbara, Carol Lightfoot, James and Douglas Lightfoot; and her brother-in-law Bryant Ringgold.
She is survived by: her children, Alicia Hitch, Melvin Hitch (Priscilla) and Dewanuna Armstrong (Kevin); her pet Lola; her grandchildren, Jason, Briante, Damere, Destiny, Zhaki, Melvin III, Jakari, Harlem, Aries, Ka'Myra, Lyric, Lateef, Javier, Kaiya, Kenvin, Nasir and Jaire; her siblings, April Burrells (Thomas), Eugenia Shields, Valerie Lightfoot, Keith Lightfoot (Lorraine) and Christopher Lightfoot (Bonita); her mother-in-law Mary Ringgold; her siblings-in-law, Robyn Blount, Monique Moore (Keith), Timothy Sykes and Dwayne Cornish; and her godchildren, Jabri Melvin, Trinity Lightfoot and Sabre'Kellas. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
