Richard Wayne Muir Obituary

Richard "Dickie" Wayne Muir, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, was born on September 5, 1948, in Salisbury, Maryland to the late William and Lottie Muir. He passed away on May 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to his family and community.

Dickie graduated from Wicomico Senior High School and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His spirit of camaraderie and commitment continued throughout his professional life, as he spent many years working in commercial sales for Automatic Equipment Sales and Shore Distributors in the HVAC industry.

A man of deep faith, Dickie worshipped with Parkway Church of God, where he shared his love for Jesus with all who crossed his path. His family was his greatest treasure, and he is survived by his devoted wife of fifty one years Dawne Muir; three daughters, Penny Brown (Deon), Crystal Sullivan (Scott), and Kelly Hickey (Chris); eleven grandchildren, Ashley, Tiffany, Brian, Cameron, Katelyn, Jordan, Tyler, Dylan, Wesley, Lexxani, and Tayden; fifteen great-grandchildren; six siblings, Audrey Dorsey, Phyllis Tyler, Bill Muir, Diane Stoker, Jim Muir, and Terry Muir; and many nieces and nephews. Dickie cherished every moment with his family and relished the joy they brought to his life, often finding laughter in everyday moments and sharing his unique sense of humor with those he loved.

An avid sports enthusiast, Dickie loved the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. He played modified softball for many years, earning a place in the Maryland Stare Modified Softball Hall of Fame. He took great joy in coaching his daughters' softball teams, instilling in them the values of teamwork, perseverance, and dedication.

Dickie's humility, hard work, and gratitude were evident in all aspects of his life. He approached each day with a caring heart and an unwavering belief in the power of family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held at Holloway Funeral Home on May 10, 2025, at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral ceremony at 10:00 AM. In honoring his memory, we will remember Dickie for the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the faith he embodied. May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in their cherished memories of him.
