She was predeceased by: her husband James L. Carruthers; her sisters, Lee (Jim), Louise (Bob) and Dorothy (Clair); and her siblings-in-law, Jack, Tom, Bernard, Bill and Jane.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Mullinix (Gary) of Monrovia, Maryland, James L. Carruthers Jr. (Noreen) of Atherton, California, Alan P. Carruthers (Merrilee) of Dallas, Texas and Jill C. Fitzgerald (John) of Brookeville, Maryland.; her grandchildren, Michael, Matthew (Mandi), Megan, William (Elizabeth), George, Jay (Amanda), Kathryn, Halley, Chelsea, Claire (Alex Howard), Emma and James; and her great grandchildren, Kendall, Kelsey Mullinix, Elle, Margot and Gia Fitzgerald.
