She was predeceased by: her mother Madeline Dunham Patterson; her son Douglas Brown; and her husband Bill Jackson. She is survived by: her children, David Brown and Dianne Brown Maranto; her grandson Benjamin Brown (Cath); her great grandchild Judith; her granddaughters, Molly and Susan Maranto; and her siblings, Norman, Ed Patterson, Eleanor Kidwell and Marie Gass.

In lieu of flowers, Jan would be honored if donations were made to the SPCA or the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
