He was predeceased by: his parents, Vivian Claypool and Charles Claypool; and his wife Charlotte Claypool. He is survived by: his children, Charles Ashley Claypool and Savannah Marie Claypool; his granddaughter Emma Price; his brother David Claypool; and his extended family, Lexie, Elijah Miller, Adam, Nicole Dubuque, Devin, Courtney, Dominic and Giovanni Lascola.

He also cared for his father during the last year of his life during the Covid pandemic until his death in 2021.
