He was predeceased by: his former wife Frances Fisher; his son Richard C. "Ricky" Bartlett, III; and his granddaughter Hanna Crafton. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen (Crafton); his children, Linda Bartlett Stearns of Oxford, Robin Bartlett of Pasadena and Jonathan Bartlett (Molly) of Annapolis; his stepsons, Jim Crafton (Lise) of Severna Park and Tom Crafton (Kathleen) of Eagle River, Alaska; his grandchildren, Emily O'Grady (Bartlett), Annie Bartlett, Jena, Kalena and Ben Crafton; and his great grandchildren, Conner, Nora and Louise O'Grady.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Annapolis Yacht Club Foundation or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
