She was predeceased by: her parents, Ann Dill Bonnett Hamel and Warren Lee Bonnett. She is survived by: her husband William Stanley Hamel; her children, W. Warren Hamel (Ann Hamel) of Arnold and Emily H. Flautt (James L. Flautt); and her grandchildren, Luke, Jacob, Emma Hamel, William, Mitchell and Jane Flautt.

The family suggests that, instead of flowers, donations in Sue's honor be made to Woods Memorial Church, Pastoral Care Ministry.
