He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernestine Herbert and Walter Herbert; and his son Neal Herbert (late Susan Herbert). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Herbert; his daughters, Jean Johnson (Jeff) and Sarah Melendez (Guillermo); his stepchildren, Susanne Jewell (Mike) and David Jones (Lauren); his grandchildren, Matthew Herbert (Stephanie), Zachary Herbert (Jada), Lauren Proska (Tyler), Christopher Jewell, Susana Melendez, Xavier Melendez, Lauren Johnson and Courtney Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Luke and Madilynn Herbert. He is also survived by his family, friends.
A reception will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Art Gallery (3150 Gracefield Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904).
