Though Darlyn may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Paul Counihan and Clara Kathryn Counihan; her husband Mark Wesley Chambre; and her siblings, Donald Counihan, Harold Counihan and Paulette Morrissey.

She is survived by: her siblings, Gene Counihan of Easton, MD and Carolyn Miller of Jeannette, PA..

“Ms. Counihan was truly one of a kind. She was brilliant and she was tough but she had a warm heart and a beautiful sense of humor. She touched countless lives through her gift of teaching but also her genuine care for her students. She lived just a few minutes away from me, so I had the privilege of keeping up with her since I left her 8th grade class. She would share gardening tips and ask about my kids and tell me about bridge. I will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.”
