With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Edward Lee Summers of Silver Spring, Maryland, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Edward Lee left this world on July 12, 2025 at the age of 98, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Lee and Helen Elizabeth Summers (O'Neill); his sister Peggy Holweck; and his former wife Dora Mae Summers. He is survived by: his wife Betty Summers; his children, Harold (Nancy), Nancy (Donn) and James Summers (late JoAnne); his stepchildren, Gail and Jerry; and his grandchildren, Larry Summers, Laura Strand, Michael Spaid, Amy Blanchard, Mindy Szekely and Nicole Greenway. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and other loving family and friends.

I have many childhood memories of my Uncle Eddie. Nancy & I, being only 4 months apart, spend much time together. Especially the 2 weeks of summer at each others homes. Uncle Eddie did not like us coming downstairs for dinner with make-up on. He had the most delightful laugh which filled you with warmth! He was a good Christian! Margie”
