We are sad to announce that, on April 15, 2026, at the age of 102, John Joseph Collins of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeremiah and Mary; his wife Maureen Clark Collins; and his siblings, Raymond, Jeremiah and Agnes.
He is survived by: his children, James (Edna), Mary (Scott), Maureen and Anne (Owen); his grandchildren, David (Lily), Jeffrey and Emrys (Jessica); and his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Beckett and Xander.
He had a long civilian career in human factors research and related work with the Navy Department, which included contributions to the Man in the Sea program and the Navy dolphin research program, among other important programs and initiatives.
