He was predeceased by: his wife Elayne McCarthy; his former wife Joan Kinsella; his parents, James Kinsella and Irene Friar; and his siblings, Gilbert Spencer, Marvin Spencer, Bryon Friar, Odessa Hesson, Patricia Lewis and Kathleen "KiKi" Tartar.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Payne and Deborah Ritchie; his son-in-law Lewis III (Payne); his grandchildren, Michael Payne, Kelly Pittman, Angela Alvey, Lewis Payne IIII, Kimberly Ritchie and Amanda Ritchie; his grandchildren-in-law, Eric Pittman, John Alvey and April Payne; and his stepson David McCormick. He is also survived by his children, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
