He was predeceased by : his parents, William Bendt and Virgina Bendt. He is survived by : his wife Marion Bendt; his sons, Dan (Corrinne) and Tim (Aida); his grandchildren, Bijan and Nina; and his siblings, Barbara, Bruce, Steve, Cathy and Wendy. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Luke Lutheran Church (9100 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20910). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
