She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Bardowell and Imogene Bardowell; her brother Basil Bardowell; her husband Cecil John Chew; and her brother Michael Bardowell.

She is survived by: her children, William A. Chew (Sharon Lim Sang), Peter G. Chew (Carol Chew), Cecile A. Franklin (Howard Franklin), Michael A. Chew and Calvin J. Chew (Lora Chew); her grandchildren, Tonisha McIntyre, Nicholas Chew, Safichia Chew, Kelsey Leonard, Damion Deshield Chew, Natalie Franklin, Tariq Chew, Bradley Franklin and Julian Chew; and her great grandchildren, Annabelle Martin, Nickayla Chew, Jenna McIntyre, Tyler McIntyre, Kaori Ramos and Rylee Franklin. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital in Elaine's honor.
