Richard H. Johnson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard H. Johnson of Silver Spring, Maryland, who passed away on May 15, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Sampson Johnson and Della Howard Johnson; his wife D. Winona Johnson; and his sister Eleanor Antoinette Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Johnson Harris and Richard Nicholas Johnson; his grandchildren, Nicholas Gregory Harris, Richard Murdock Johnson and Royce Imani Johnson; his nieces, Marian Callaway and Tajuana Callaway; his cousin Roscoe Conklin Howard; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ashley Callaway, Lindsey Callaway, Robert Callaway Jr. and Christopher Callaway.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Peoples Community Baptist Church (31 Norwood Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20905). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be sent to the National Head Start Association https://nhsa.org, and select "Dedicate my donation in honor of Richard H. Johnson" when prompted.
