He was predeceased by: his parents, David E. Cannon and Carrie Cannon; and his siblings, Evelyn Hightower, Gwendolyn Moore, Thelma Hackett, Cecil Cannon and David H. Cannon.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred S. Cannon; his children, Rufus R. Cannon, Jr. and Carole Cannon Broadnax (Johnathan); and his grandchildren, Graylyn Broadnax and Courtney Broadnax. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
