He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace F. Whelan and Alice K. Whelan; and his brother Timothy Whelan. He is survived by: his wife Debra Bond Whelan; his sisters, Pat Whelan, Mary Chew (Bill) and Christine Kindschuh (Jeff); and his sister-in-law Barbara Biancone. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (15661 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, MD 20906). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
