With sadness, we share the passing of Yvonne Annette Johnson (Silver Spring, Maryland). Yvonne, born on March 4, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 1, 2026. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Napoleon Cook and Katie Venola Cook (Hawkins); her husband Maurice Phillip Johnson; and her siblings, Mary Eleanor Royal (Cook), Louis Cook Jr. and Larry Andrew Cook.
She is survived by: her daughter Jill Kimberly Johnson (Panzio Solomon Blocker); and her friends, Stephanie Lynn Royal, Louis Cook, III of Stacey Yvette Royal, MD, Scott Anthony Cook, MD (Lonna Perella), Marcy Lynn (Cook), Hopkins (David Hopkins) and Brian Alan Cook. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Collins Funeral Home (500 University Blvd W, Silver Spring, MD 20901). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Homewood Cemetery (1599 S Dallas Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217).
