He was predeceased by: his son Allen R. Smith; his siblings, Joann Clifford and Eugene Smith; and his daughter-in-law Dawn Smith. He is survived by: his wife Shirley L. [Hiltner] Smith; his daughter-in-law Sharon Smith; his sister LuCee [Lucy] Whitter; Sandy Flook (Allen), Gary Smith, Cathy Leatherman (Kevin), Janet Andrews (Dave) and Mark Smith. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jl Davis Funeral Home (12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg, MD 21783). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fahrney-Keedy Nursing home or charity of your choice.
