We are sad to announce that, on May 26, 2026, at the age of 92, Shirley Hastings of Smithsburg, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Evers Longanecker and Zada Rose Longanecker (Staley); her siblings, Sue Ellen Metzger, Curtis Longanecker and Floyd "Bud" Longanecker; and her daughter-in-law Vicki Hastings.
She is survived by: her husband Fred Samuel Hastings; her sons, Greg Hastings (Connie), Keith Hastings and Brian Hastings (Kim); and her siblings, Sylvia Crum, Rose Whorten, Nancy Ryder, Larry Longanecker, Linda Hitt, David Longanecker and Cathy Billmeyer. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
