Joseph will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Joseph by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Joseph is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Joseph’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Dove and Bernadine Dove; and his brothers, Bobby Dove and Jimmy Dove. He is survived by: his wife Margie Deffinbaugh; his children, John Dove (Kim), Barbara Whalen (Pat), Bill Dove (Audra) and Marian Rupp (Joe); and his sister Joan Bottom (Gordon). He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; and his twelve nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church (225 Alexander La, Solomons, MD 20688).
