He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Merillat and Olivia Merillat. He is survived by: his wife Darla Merillat; his sons, Richard Merillat and Kevin Merillat; his daughter-in-law Amanda Merillat; his grandson Denver Merillat; and his siblings, Robert Merillat, Jr., Christopher Merillat and Suzanne Kress.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Our Lady Star of the Sea Deacon Chad Martin Memorial Pre-School fund, reflecting his spirit of generosity, community service, and the advancement of tomorrows Saints.
