He was predeceased by: his father Wesley Shirley; and his brother Michael Wesley Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Melinda Jean Shirley; his daughter Leah Marie DeBoe; his son-in-law Phillip DeBoe; his grandchildren, Sawyer James DeBoe and Logan William DeBoe; his mother Carol Lee Melvin; and his siblings, Lisa Jean Macy and Mark David Shirley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Charles County, a cause close to Alan's heart.
