As we bid JoAnn farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For JoAnn is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver M. Dixon and Bernice A. Dixon (Stewart); her husband Roy F. Sharpless; her son Robert "John Boy" Sharpless; and her brother Robert "Bob" Dixon.
She is survived by: her children, Terry "Termite" Sharpless (Kim), Debra Davis (Joseph), Marla Herman (Kevin) and Patty Madigan (Terry Lewis); and her sisters, Sylvia Paugh, Sharon Tichnell and Alta Tichnell. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Walnut Bottom Assembly of God (1014 Walnut Bottom Rd, Swanton, MD 21561).
