He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine Pedreira Dalbey and Theodore Dalbey of Monroeville, Pennsylvania.. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Dalbey (Deaton) of Taylorsville, Maryland.; his brother Robert Dalbey (Denise) of Murraysville, Pennsylvania; his son Kyle Smith (Bridget) of McKnightstown, Pennsylvania; his stepdaughters, Sara Wink (Michael) and Brittany Baker (Zachary) of Taylorsville, Maryland; and his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexandra Wink, Reese, Quinn and Luke Baker.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
