Doris E. Kell Obituary
Doris Evalyn Kell, age 102, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2023, surrounded by her family in Westminster, MD. Doris was born November 27, 1920, in Canton, OH and spent much of her life there. She was part of Lehman High School's first graduating class and spent 15 years as an administrative assistant at Republic Steel before devoting herself to her home and family.
Doris centered her life around her faith in Christ and her love for her family. Doris was a member of First Christian Church in Canton, OH for 80 years. She taught Sunday School classes for at least 75 of those years and also sang in their choir. Upon her move to Rochester, MN at age 93, she joined Hope Summit Christian Church, where she was treasured by her Sunday School class and Bible study members alike.
Doris's surviving relatives include her daughter, Ruth (Curtis) Milton of Sykesville, MD; grandson Jonathan (Jessica) Milton of Smithfield, NC; granddaughter Rebecca (Matthew) Henderson of Triangle, VA; great-granddaughter Hannah Milton; brother William Shive of Alameda, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Kell; her son, David Kell; her brothers Donald Shive, Frank Shive, James Shive; her sister Joyce (Shive) Vignon; and her parents, Roy Shive and Anna (Shiltz) Shive.
A graveside service will be held in Canton, OH at a later date, with interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
