With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mark Field Updike (Sykesville, Maryland), who passed away on July 25, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Mark has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L Updike and Marian D Aitcheson; and his brother Robert Updike (Sally). He is survived by: his brother Jim Updike (Sally) of Fort Collins Colorado; his brother-in-law Norman C Steele (Carla); his son Carl Updike (Julie) of Sykesville Maryland; and his grandchildren, James, Chrissy and Leo.
