He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred L. Wetzel Sr. and Mary Jane Holt Wetzel; his brother Randy D. Wetzel; his nephew Travis E. Wetzel; and his sister-in-law Debbie J. Leister.

He is survived by: his wife Daisy Ella Wetzel; his daughter Teresa Lynn Wetzel Angell (Albert) of Taneytown; his grandsons, Josiah "Joey" Angell, Michael "Mike" Angell and A. J. (Nichole Angell); his great grandchildren, Dom, Robbie and Josh; his siblings, Beverly J. Mullinix of Union Bridge, Ricky A. Wetzel of Keymar and David E. Wetzel (Christina) of Frederick; his mother-in-law Evelyn Golden; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Wetzel, Kim Gray, Wanita Litsinger (Jon), Larry Taylor (Donna) and Timothy Golden (Tanya). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
