He was predeceased by: his parents, John Folk and Rose Bell Stewart (Hyson); his brother Bob Stewart; and his sister-in-law Marie Stewart. He is survived by: his wife Mabel A. Stewart; his children, Patricia "Patty" Stewart (Shirley) of Vacaville, CA, Debra "Deb" Myers (Rick) of Westminster, John M. Stewart Jr. (Sue) of Union Bridge and Sharon Schildt of Myrtle Beach, SC; his siblings, Frank Stewart (Shirley) of Pasadena and Carol Dement of DeFuniak Springs, FL; his grandchildren, John Stewart III, Misti Trescone, Chad Schildt and Cameron Schildt; and his stepgranddaughters, Megan O'Melia and Chelsea Frye. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
