“Mr. Gernand was the father of my friend, Renee. When I visited her in MD, I was happy to know I would be visiting him, too. Mr. Gernand had a kind, clever sense of humor. He was a wonderful host, made a warm fire in the hearth, but, did play to win Quiddler, his favorite game. (He is chuckling now, I know.) Renee has his art in her home, such a lovely reminder of his many talents. He and his family laughed a lot. Kudos to them all and to his children who lovingly cared for him til the end.”
