Barbara Joan Murtagh Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 83, Barbara Joan Murtagh (Thurmont, Maryland) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Barbara's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Barbara has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her mother Thelma Chesman. She is survived by: her sons, Sean and Mark Murtagh; her brother David Chesman; her sister-in-law Mary Richter; her children-in-law, Kirsten Martin and Richard Kassner; and her friend Joan McCausland.
