She was predeceased by: her parents, Julio Torres and Nina Torres; her husband George Theodore Jones, Jr.; her significant other Charles Hughes; and her siblings, Julio Torres, Lloyd Torres, Lillian Nivens, Laura Stoddard and James Torres.
She is survived by: her sister Hazel Torres; her daughters, Nina Jones and Laura Jones-McDowell; and her sons-in-law, John McCauley and Harold McDowell. She is also survived by six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Even after glaucoma and Parkinson's had robbed her of those enjoyments, she treasured music to her final days.
