He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Margaret E. Shaw; his children, Nelson III (Shannon), Candice and Kelly; his grandchildren, Katlyn Evon, Alessandra Catherine Marie, Natalie Alisha, Kelsey Danielle, Sophia Helen and Shareef Nelson; his siblings, Pernell Shaw (Elizabeth), Sandra Dorsey, Walter Shaw, Zerita Shaw and Mark Shaw; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Robinson, Helen Robinson, Betsy Robinson and Charles Robinson. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving extended family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund in Nelson's honor.
