She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jacob and Amiben Merchant; her husband Vijay Niranjan Rao; her children, Suresh (Aruna), Rajesh and Deepa (Ben); her grandsons, Roshan, Sachin and Felix; and her sisters, Subhodika Christian and Vatsala Paul.
