He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Barbara "Bobbie"; his sons, David J. McDonnell III (Francie) and Michael D. McDonnell (Lacy); his grandchildren, Addie, Maggie, Bobby, Nancy, Tommy, Lizzie and Michael McDonnell; and his brother Dennis McDonnell (Ellen) of Tampa, FL..
