He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Berkowitz (Landesberg) and Abraham Berkowitz; his sister-in-law Nancy Berkowitz (Gross); and his grandson Michael Berkowitz. He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Kestenbaum); his brother Lester; his children, Ruth Shpritz (Lee), Susan Berkowitz and Marc Berkowitz (Mary Hargrave); his grandchildren, Adam Shpritz (Barbara Beardsworth), Elana Lander-Portnoy (Zachary), Laurel Ostrander (Bill), David Mick (Catherine), Melissa Murphy (Scott), Margaret Berkowitz and Maria Berkowitz; and his great grandchildren, Annalyse, Isla Shpritz, Talia, Max Lander-Portnoy and Alexander Ostrander.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Sol Levinson's Chapel (8900 Reisterstown Rd, Pikesville, MD 21208).
