He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Edward "Ned" Doherty; his wife Carol Radwitch Doherty; his children, Mary Chozick (Robert) of Sparta, Ann Ware (John) of West Towson, Kathleen Doherty of Charleston and Joseph Doherty (Lisa) of Riderwood; and his siblings, Anne Doherty of Brooklyn, Rosemary Murphy of Philadelphia, Noreen Doherty and Daniel O'Doherty. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren.
