He was predeceased by: his brother Ernest Vandermast. He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann Vandermast; his children, Kim Marie Longo (Robert), Cynthia Carlin Horka (Bruce) and Caroline Ann Schiller (Harry); his grandchildren, Steven, Lindsey Chaffman, Ryan, Michael, Renee Horka, Ridgely McKinless, Kyle, Alyssa, Keegan and Emerson Schiller; and his great grandchildren, Emery, Landen Chaffman, Aveline, Ellia, Cecelia, Geneva Horka, Hudson and Shepherd Schiller.
