With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sophia Maggelakis Vendelis (Towson, Maryland), born in Baltimore, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 26, 2026. She is survived by: her husband Andrew Vendelis; her sister Vasilia Maggelakis; her children, Manuel Vendelis (Dina), Anastasia Vendelis-Klima (Jamie) and Christina Makris; her grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathon and Christina Vendelis; and her children, Sophia, Andrew, Alexander Klima, Megan, Elizabeth and Peter Makris.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church for the restoration of the baptistry.
