He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Gately; his son Kevin Gately; and his parents, Thomas Gately and Eleanor Gately. He is survived by: his son Michael Gately of Towson; and his grandsons, Michael, Bradley, Matthew Gately of Portage, Brett and Paul Gately of Towson, Maryland..
