He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester A. Wilson, Sr. and Lillian V. Wilson; his sisters, Kathleen Willis and Leona Thomas; his children, James Monroe, Sr. and Victoria Gray; and his great grandchildren, Ja'mar Lytrell Monroe, Jr., Aiden Monroe and Wynter Monroe.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his daughters, Dinah Franklin (Stanley) of Miami, FL, Lillian Wilson of Trappe, MD and Leslie Waters (Adrian) of Wilmington, DE; and his niece Stephanie Harrison of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
