She was predeceased by: her parents, James May Sr. and Ellen May. She is survived by: her siblings, Samuel May, Howard, James Jr., Lillie Bumpers and Molly Smith; her daughters, Romona Ballard and Sharon Howard; her grandchildren, Keisha Ballard, Keva Ballard (Lee Stephenson), Rochelle Stewart (Shelley Stewart III), Keyana Ballard, La'Shawn Lancaster (Leo Lancaster), David Holland (Melissa Holland), Jussten Canty and Deonte Smith (Lauryn Gray); her great grandchildren, KeShawn, RaShawn, Kyre, Nick, Kristen, Kaiden, Kyle, Jada, Jose, Aliyah, Shelley IV, Ellis, Hamlin and Serena; her sister Eleanor Kennedy; and her nephew Tony Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kettering Baptist Church (6909 Crain Hwy, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
