She was predeceased by: her parents, William Clay Vaughan and Bettie Priscilla Vaughan; her husband Charles Hamilton Armstrong; her siblings, Norman (Arma Vaughan), Ralph Vaughan and Florine (Bobby Joyner); and her friend Nellie Rhea Winstead.
She is survived by: her children, Carmel Anne Armstrong Wood, Betty Teresa Armstrong O'Brien (TC), Charles Raphael Armstrong and Brien (Steve); her son-in-law William S. Wood Jr.; her granddaughters, Brittany Michele Wood, Kayla Marie Wood and Madelyn Elise Cooper Hinshaw (Matt); her great grandchildren, Mallory Ann Pyles, Charlee Grace Hinshaw and Claire Elise Hinshaw; her sister-in-law Doretha Vaughan; her nephews, Bill Joyner, Randy Joyner, Victor Vaughan, Brian Vaughan and Mike Vaughan; and her niece Angie Vaughan Baker. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, dear friends.
