He was predeceased by: his parents, William McKinley, Sr. and Icy Mines Sprouse Johnson; his son Herman Lee Johnson; and his siblings, William McKinley, Jr., Harry Preston, Frank Lynwood, Sr., Harold "Hank" Hankins, Austin Chestine, Hallie "Rocky" Hansford, Roy Lee Johnson, Nancy Mines Johnson Hess, Hazel Christen Johnson Knight, Louise Virginia Johnson Powers, Bertie Alene Johnson Hamilton, Dorothy Bell Johnson Hodge and Juanita Frances Johnson Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Louise Jordan Johnson; his daughters, Gayetta Zieman, Doris Lahocki, Sandra Harrell and Cathy Crandall; and his nephew Morris. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces.
