He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold A. Slagle and Violet Slagle; his siblings, Ed Slagle, Nancy Lee and Jo Adele; his parents-in-law, Anthony and Mary Yankowsky; his brother-in-law Tony Yankowsky; and his nephews, Scott Slagle and Mark Yankowsky.
He is survived by: his wife Janie Slagle; his children, Kathy Slagle and Jim Slagle (Stacy); his grandsons, Trey and Tyler; his brother Tim Slagle (Vivian); and his nieces and nephews, Jason Slagle, Eddie Slagle (Candy), Michael Yankowsky (Denise), Kathy Fachler (Bruce) and Marcia Slagle. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (305 Smallwood Dr, Waldorf, MD 20602). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Hospice of the Chesapeake, or to Scouting America, BSA Troop 1780, in Jim's memory.
