James Samuel Cooksey Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Samuel Cooksey of Waldorf, Maryland, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Louis Cooksey and Evelyn Lorraine Cooksey (Barron); his brother Donald Cooksey; and his grandchildren, Eric Kackley, Stephanie Cave and Patrick Cave.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Cooksey (Lange); his children, Wayne Cooksey of Brandywine, MD, Irene Thompson (Marty) of Waldorf, MD, Debbie Bradshaw (Sean) of Spotsylvania, VA and Cheryl Altimus (Travis) of Newburg, MD.; his siblings, Robert Cooksey of Brandywine, MD and Margaret Wetherald of Bryantown, MD; his mother-in-law Irene Lange of Sebring; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Borawski, Ruby Donaty, Amanda Magee, Greg Kackley, Nicole Beam, Chris Kackley, James Magee, Brian Cooksey, Shianne Cooksey and Madison Cooksey. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
