With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of JoAnn (Butler) Hancock of Waldorf, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2026 at the age of 76. She was predeceased by: her parents, Winston Butler and Mary Butler; her siblings, Winston Butler Jr. and Denise Butler; her granddaughter L'Tonya Renee Brown; her nieces, Paula Jordan and Cassandra Butler; and her great-niece Ebony Butler.

She is survived by: her children, Darren Broughton, Courtney Hancock-Joyner and Nicole Hancock; her children-in-law, Chris Joyner and Mary Broughton (Max); her grandchildren, Whitney Harris, Ashleigh Broughton, Darren Broughton Jr., Christian Joyner, Jacqueline Calmese, Cameron Joyner and Mi Kenzie Brown; her great grandchildren, Cori Deja-Rose Thompson, Cree Petties and Camila JoAnna Broughton; her sisters, Patricia Jackson, Shirley Butler and Debra Butler; her niece Tanna Bussey; and her nephews, Darnell Butler, Winston Butler III, Reggie Woods, Damon Jackson and James Paige. She is also survived by cousins and friends.
