He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Alton Smith "Wimpy" (Hannah Corrine Simmons-Smith "Billie") and Hannah Corrine Simmons Smith "Billie"; and his brother Derek Allen Smith, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Victoria Marie Lee-Smith "Vicki"; his children, Paula Smith (Bruce), Jovanna Smith and Joseph Lamont Smith, Jr. (Sherrell); his siblings, Cornell Posey, Angela Davis "Angie" (Buck) and Iris Smith; his aunt Irma Gray "Chick" (Sonny); his uncle Benny Smith; his goddaughter Pamela Hall-Smith; his cousin John Gray (Jaydee); and his grandson Brendon. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
