It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Lou Mattera of Waldorf, Maryland, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Melvin Leizear and Gertrude Leizear; and her siblings, Melvin Leizear, Margaret Miller, Gertrude Hawkins and Lola Ellinger.

She is survived by : her husband Emilio Mattera, Jr. (EG); her sons, Emilio Mattera (Joey), John Mattera (Dawn) of Waldorf, MD, Robert (Bobby), Anthony (Tony) and Danny Mattera (Jenna) of Mechanicsville, MD.; her siblings, John Leizear of Prince Frederick, MD, Shirley Dornberger of Bowie, MD and June Sgro of Chester; and her grandchildren, Caylee Underwood (Travis), Christopher Mattera, Jacob Mattera, Allyson Mattera, Megan Mattera, Leah Mattera, Gillian Mattera, Brandon Mattera and Nicholas Mattera.
